Remember: There is no tax, small government or USA in
heaven or hell
There once was a man named Charlie who lived in your peaceful
average American neighborhood. Often he would see his neighbor drive
past with a fish decal on his car, he knew that must mean he was a
Christian. One day, next to the fish sticker the man had placed
another sticker that read “Ron Paul ‘08”
One afternoon he went out to his mailbox at the same time as his
neighbor. The man seemed very friendly so he introduced himself and
learned his name was Frank. Charlie commented he had seen the
stickers on the back of Frank’s car. At this comment, Frank’s face
lit up! “Oh yes,” said Frank, “I am a Christian and a proud
supporter of Ron Paul!” Charlie explained he wasn’t into politics
very much and hadn’t made up his mind who he was going to vote for.
He mentioned he heard about a guy named Obama who sounded like a
good candidate. At this Frank passionately responded, “Oh no! You
don’t want to vote for him, he is the worst thing for America!”
Frank went on to explain that Obama claims to be a Christian but
really isn’t. “If you have a minute, could I tell you a little about
this man Ron Paul?” Charlie wasn’t very busy, so he agreed.
Frank then began to tell Charlie very persuasively about all of the
great things that would happen if Ron Paul were elected.
“He has never in all his life voted to raise taxes! Do you like
paying high taxes?” “Well of course not, that has always annoyed
me!” Charlie responded. Frank went on, “What about big
government? What about the current course to throw out the
constitution? What about having our precious young men out
needlessly policing the world, wouldn’t you rather have them here at
home patrolling our borders?!”
Charlie had never heard such talk, “why hasn’t anybody every told me
these things?!”
Frank assured him, “there is hope for America—if you put your trust
in a man!”
After this short talk Charlie was sold, he became Ron Paul biggest
supporter! He had so many friends that he had to talk to and tell
them there is hope for America. Soon, his front yard looked
just like Franks, he had a great big “Ron Paul ‘08” sign out front!
He got, not one, but two bumper stickers for his car! He would go
with his new friend Frank to public places and hand out Ron Paul
literature and tell people the many great things that would happen
if they voted for him. When they met supporters for Clinton or Obama
they would wrestle against flesh and blood and debate any who stood
in their way into submission.
Soon, the big election happened! And against all odds, Ron Paul was
elected!!
True to his word, he not only never voted raise taxes, he cut them
repeatedly! He brought the troops home and there was a big
celebration! He managed to cut unconstitutional government programs
and weakened big government. His administration brought the best
times for America, Charlie was so happy and often thought what life
would have been like had he never met Frank!
Then one day a terrible disease Charlie suffered from called sin
finally gave its last blow and Charlie died--praise the Lord a
passionate conservative follower.
He stood before that Lord and was asked to give an account of his
life. He told the Lord about how he wasted much of his time during
his younger days, but towards the end he became a zealous
conservative political supporter! He was worried when the Lord
seemed unimpressed by all the low taxes, small government, and
patriotism supported.
The Lord asked him “What good are low taxes when you haven’t been
cleansed from your sins and been born again?” “If someone’s heart is
desperately wicked, what good does it do them if you pass laws
against abortion and homosexuality?”
“But Lord, I helped restore respect and reverence for the
Constitution of the United States of America!” Charlie protested.
“What about my Word the bible, did you respect that?” asked the
Lord.
Charlie stood guilty and he knew it.. condemned he was sentenced to
spend eternity separated from God.
In hell, the importance of low taxes, small government and all the
other Conservative doctrines his friend Frank had converted him to
seem like a sick joke.
Finally one day Frank died as well. The Lord asked him to give an
account for his life. He confessed he was a sinner most of his life
but then was truly saved! With the blood of Christ covering
his sin and the resurrection of Christ giving him eternal life he
was welcomed into heaven. But then his works were tested, he
watched in horror as all his works of wood hay and stubble were
burned up and he was left with no reward. Frank was very
saddened when he realized he had given so much time and energy to
the kingdom of America but no thought to the kingdom of God.
He thought of all the people who knew him as a Ron Paul supporter
and not as an ambassador for Christ. He entered heaven by fire
with nothing to show for his life, even though here on earth he
seemed to be bursting with "good works."
The Moral of this simple story is quite obvious! Please by all means
when the election rolls around vote for good 'ole Ron P.! But mark
my words, he won't change a thing and his election will save no one.
Might I humbly recommend that those of us who want to change the
world just stick to preaching the Gospel like Jesus commanded us and
leave the frivolous political arena alone? America will not endure
forever! Souls however can, so should we not spend our time and
energy on saving them?!
We serve comfort to often and would sadly give our time and lives to
keep America comfortable.. Let it go, you can slow the decline, but
you will never stop it. A little persecution would do the American
"church" and Church some real good--believe me;)
