This time
in your life — this season that you think will go on forever, this knowledge you
have that you think is exceptional, the thoughts you ponder that you think are
original and the experiences you have you think are unique. These are the
natural characteristics of youth and I must tell you, the days of your youth are
fleeting. O, you've heard older women tell you that before, I'm sure.
And you've likely agreed with them — but I must tell you and
implore you to listen: be very careful of shadows and things that appear to be true and
authentic to
you. Weigh them carefully and hold them up to the Light and examine them in the light of the Word.
You will see, perhaps not now, but you will see more clearly one day that what
you were seeing, feeling, hearing, experiencing in this season of your life were
things that God was working to form you into the woman He designed you to be.
Be careful then, where you go, what you say, what you do, with whom you join company.
It cannot be stated or emphasized strongly enough the importance of
conduct the decision making of this season.. Though short,
this is the single
most defining season of your life, for it is in this season of your life that
you will make decisions and choices that will, by and large, affect
every other season of your life.
The blessings, the
consequences of actions, the opportunities, the education, the
social acquaintances, and most every other decision or activity you
undertake in this season will not only serve to clarify and define
who you are as a young woman, but will also determine the course of
your life. I pray for you dear young sister, that you will
live a life worthy of your calling.
