am trying to gather information, links and articles that will help
you in your mothering. That's why I am entitling this page
"Some Heart to Heart Thoughts on Motherhood and Parenting." I
want to encourage you in the best and most rewarding roll you could
have:
Motherhood. Remember: as with ALL of the

“Here is
a little mouth to kiss;
here are two more feet
to make music with their
pattering about my
nursery. Here is a soul
to train for God, and
the body in which it
dwells is worth all it
will cost, since it is
abode of a kingly
tenant. I may see less
of friends, but I have
gained one dearer than
them all. Yes, my
precious baby, you are
welcome to your mothers
heart, welcome to her
time, her strength, her
health, to her most
tender cares, to her
life-long prayers! Oh
how rich I am, how
truly, how wondrously
blest!”

Parenting Programs Though they are quite
popular, and *DO* contain good ideas, I feel that the material presented by some ministries
is not wise for parents to use indiscriminately. You
may glean some good ideas from the books and tapes... but blanketly adopting all of the methods (in my opinion!) may not
be beneficial or healthy, for that matter. If you have
these materials, you must carefully and practically evaluate
them. Plus, when I studied the Scriptures given to support
various positions the authors hold, I saw error and
misrepresentation. When I began to question the methods
presented in one of the programs, I looked for evidence---not
just hearsay--- to support my disapproval was amazed at
the amount of information I located. You can read

About being
"quiver-full
" minded:
It doesn't matter the number of children you (will or won't, do or
don't) have, it does matter
that you are
settled with God---knowing He chooses and what He
chooses is best.
Quiver-full minded means that the
LORD is Lord of the Womb and is sovereign over the womb and
the marriage bed is undefiled.
It is the LORD's to open and close the womb.
He is our merciful
protector and provider.

A Mom by any
other name....
A woman named
Emily renewing her driver's license at the County
Clerk's office was asked by the woman recorder to state
her occupation. She hesitated, uncertain how to
classify herself. "What I mean is," explained the
recorder, "do you have a job, or are you just a . . .
.?
"Of course I
have a job," snapped Emily. "I'm a Mom."
We don't list
'Mom' as an occupation . . 'Housewife' covers it," said
the recorder emphatically.
I forgot all
about her story until one day I found myself in the
same situation, this time at our own Town Hall. The
Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised, efficient,
and possessed of a high sounding title like, "Official
Interrogator" or "Town Registrar".
"What is your
occupation?" she probed.
What made me
say it, I do not know. The words simply popped out. "I'm
a Research Associate in the field of Child
Development and Human Relations."
The clerk
paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair, and looked up
as though she had not heard right. I repeated the title
slowly, emphasizing the most significant words. Then I
stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written in
bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.
"Might I ask,"
said the clerk with new interest, "just what you do in
your field?"
Coolly, without
any trace of fluster in my voice, I heard myself reply,
"I have a continuing program of research, (what mother
doesn't), in the laboratory and in the field, (normally
I would have said indoors and out). I'm working for my
Masters, (the whole darned family), and already have
four credits, (all daughters). Of course, the job is one
of the most demanding in the humanities, (any mother
care to disagree.?), and I often work 14 hours a day,
(24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging
than most run-of-the-mill careers and the rewards are
more of a satisfaction rather than just money."
There was an
increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she
completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me
to the door. As I drove into our driveway, buoyed
up by my glamorous new career, I was greeted by my lab
assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3. Upstairs I could
hear our new experimental model, (a 6 month old baby),
in the child-development program, testing out a new
vocal pattern. I felt I had scored a beat on
bureaucracy! And I had gone on the official records as
someone more distinguished and indispensable to mankind
than "just another Mom".
Motherhood . .
.. What a glorious career! Especially when there's a
title on the door. |

Don't Throw
Your Husband
Out
With The
Baby's
Bathwater
Glenys Robyn
Hicks
Isn't
becoming a
mother just
the most
intense
experience
both
physically
and
emotionally?
For me, it
was the most
fulfilling
time of my
life! I
remember the
anxious
waiting for
my son's
birth-
doubly
anxious
because I
had given
birth to
still-born
twins in my
seventh
month
previously.
And as I
waited
anxiously
for his
birth, I
also
wondered
what exactly
my husband
was
experiencing
emotionally.
Outwardly,
he seemed
unconcerned,
but I knew
he must have
had some
anxiety as
well- he was
looking
forward to
this child
as much as
I. So I
thought
about how
this child
would change
our marital
relationship-
would it
bring us
closer or
cause some
distance
between us?
You see, I
had friends
who had
dreamt all
their lives
of being a
mother, and
when that
supreme
moment came,
they
invested so
much
of their
time and
energy into
motherhood
that they
often
neglected
their
husbands.
Many men
were
battling
anxieties
caused
through
feeling
second-best
or
neglected...
not only in
the
love-making
area, but in
all areas.
Suddenly the
world
revolved
around the
baby and
they felt
like they
were just
the
breadwinner
and of no
special
significance
to their
wives. Some
of them even
carried
guilt
because they
felt jealous
of their own
child. And
some of them
even strayed
because of
it. I didn't
want this to
happen. As
soon as Mark
was born,
they handed
him to
me...I drank
in the sight
of him and
immediately
handed him
up to his
father. As I
did with the
other
children as
well. I made
every effort
to include
him in not
only the
baby's life,
but I made
sure that he
had no doubt
that I still
regarded him
as my
friend, my
lover and my
husband.
There were
times when
the baby
needed my
attention of
course, but
I made sure
that I made
time to
listen to
what my
husband had
to say, to
cook his
favourite
meals and to
be
demonstratively
affectionate
to him. He
was so proud
of each of
our babies
and was a
very good
father. (We
later on had
problems in
our marriage
that were
totally
unrelated to
him feeling
second best
after their
birth.) I
have
encouraged
my own
daughters to
remember
that they
are wives
first and
mothers
second. They
have been
encouraged
as well to
put their
husbands
first in
everything
so as to
avoid the
mistakes I
have seen
new mothers
sometimes
make. Being
a mother
would not be
anywhere
near as
wonderful an
experience
if we lost
our
marriages in
the process.
So, new
mothers and
young
ladies, I
would
encourage
you too-
don't
throw your
husband out
with the
baby's
bathwater!

What about The "Pill"
Is it an abortifacient? I asked this question to a very well known
"Pastor/Teacher" Bible scholar and author and his reply that it is not, was startling and bothersome to me... knowing in my heart that the pill and other contraceptives are contrary to God's perfect design,
even death to His design, I've sought to gather solid information to help with hard questions.
Please read these two articles...

What about
the big fix?
Should you endeavor to
repair past decisions to
prevent future blessings? Should you consider sterilization
reversal? Husbands and wives:
Seek the LORD and His wisdom. pray before making any decisions/plans.
Getting "fixed" is a misnomer... if it is/was working,
then
breaking it
is
not
"fixing"
it...
There are ALWAYS
consequences
to altering God's design.
Always.
the
big fix is a big LIE.
It is a lie.
The enemy
seeks only to distort, kill and destroy God's creation.
We pray all
would repent of the sin of the big fix.
Spiritually and emotionally repent and turn from the
lie.
And if the LORD so leads, then seek to
physically/surgically reverse
the damage
done by believing the big lie. I don't even have
to tell you, though...
You already know:
the big fix is the big lie.
Here are some very helpful ministries:

Please don't "fix" something that isn't broken!
Getting "fixed" is a lie. Trust the LORD... He will be found by you and He is faithful.
Luke 4.18-21
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to
preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the
brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering
of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and
sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were
fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture
fulfilled in your ears.

A
Mother’s
Love
In joyful
love and
amazement
the young
Eve’s heart
lurched
As she gazed
at the
infant she’d
just brought
to birth,
And the
depth of her
love took
her quite by
surprise
As she
looked at
Cain’s face
with its big
blue eyes.
How tiny
each
feature, how
perfect, how
flawless-
How soft was
the skin
still wet
from the
waters
That
protected
and
comforted
him just
moments ago
When the
world still
had no babe
nor mother
to know
A mother’s
love…
Joy swept
through her
previously
unknown;
Eve knew it
was the same
joy God
towards her
had shown-
Feelings of
elation in
the life of
a new living
being
And
possibilities
of shared
love
previously
unseen;
Deep
feelings of
protection
and for the
nurturing of
This
delightful
new creature
and object
of
A mother’s
love…
This love
felt so
strange as
it burst in
Eve’s soul
And she knew
that as a
woman she
truly felt
whole,
For she
sensed that
as a mother
she took a
part in
creation,
And thanking
God, full of
thankful
celebration,
She lifted
her son to
the Father
above,
Amazed by
the strength
and power of
A mother’s
love…
All through
the ages
this same
love formed
in Eve’s
heart
Has been
passed down
to her
daughters as
they too
take part
In the
greatest of
mysteries
known to
man,
The strong
feeling of
partnership
in God’s
plan
Of the birth
and the
nurture and
the survival
of
God’s most
precious of
blessings so
needful of
A mother’s
love.
